How to Replace the Rear Side Airbag Sensor of the Volkswagen Golf 7

To replace the rear side airbag sensor, start by sliding the rear seat forward, then use a 10mm socket to unscrew the nut holding the door trim and remove it from the clips; now disconnect the airbag connector by first lifting the red tab and then pulling out the connector. Next, use a Torx key to unscrew the sensor's screw. Take the new sensor out of the packaging, place it in the same position and orientation as the old sensor, screw in the screw with the Torx key, reconnect the plug, lower the red tab, and reattach the door trim, ensuring the seatbelt and seal are correctly positioned. Finally, screw the nut back on with a 10mm socket and reinstall the rear seat. You can also reset the error by connecting a device to the car's OBD port and clearing the error from the ECU.
