How to Disconnect the Airbag from the Seat of the Volkswagen Golf 5

To disconnect the airbag from the driver's or passenger's seat in a Volkswagen Golf model 5, you need to slide the seat back. You will immediately notice a yellow connector. Once you disconnect the connector, the airbag will be deactivated immediately. It is advisable to disconnect the vehicle's battery before performing this operation to prevent the airbag from activating during removal, even if the vehicle is turned off. The instrument panel will then indicate on the display that the seat airbag has a malfunction, signalled by a flashing red airbag warning light.
