Removal of Brake Discs and Front Bearing

Model: Volkswagen Transporter T25, T3, MK 3 - Years 1979-1990

On this vehicle model, the brake disc integrates the hub bearing, so when replacing the discs, you will need to transfer the hub and bearing from the old disc to the new one. It is also recommended to purchase the complete kit (disc and bearing with hub) as disassembly can often cause damage. That said, lift the vehicle and remove the front wheel. Use a punch to extract the pins securing the brake pads and the corresponding spring, slightly retract the piston of the caliper, and remove the old pads. Then, remove the caliper with the bracket, take off the cap at the centre of the hub, and unscrew the nut securing the disc-hub assembly with the bearing. Remove the clips and take out the bearing to clean, grease, and install it along with the hub on the new disc.
