First, open the tailgate itself, then locate the two small side covers and unclip them. Next, remove the emergency triangle and, using a Torx screwdriver, unscrew the four screws that have been exposed. At this point, grasp the panel, pull it down firmly, and separate it from the tailgate. To fit a replacement, simply follow the reverse procedure.
