Model: Volkswagen Passat B8, MK 8, 3G - Years 2014-2023
Part: Brake pads
Operation: How to replace the rear brake pads of the Volkswagen Passat B8.

The guide shows how to replace the rear brake pads of the Volkswagen Passat b8 without using the VCDS diagnostic software. The first step is to safely lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheels. Unlock the electronic handbrake before starting the disassembly. Using a lever, remove the retaining spring of the brake caliper and, from the back of the caliper, remove the protective caps of the nuts and unscrew them with a HW7 key. Remove the brake caliper and move it aside; remove the worn brake pads. Unscrew the two bolts securing the electronic brake motor and, using a puller, bring the caliper piston to the fully open position. If necessary, also replace the brake disc by loosening the securing bolts. Clean the work area and reassemble the pads onto the support. Reinstall the brake caliper and lock everything in place.
