The airbag light on the Volkswagen Polo indicates a general electronic problem with the airbag system, often related to damage to the light switch. To resolve the issue, you need to remove the airbag from the centre of the steering wheel by loosening the screws at the back. Once the airbag is extracted, you can loosen the central nut that secures the steering wheel and remove it completely. At this point, detach the plastic covers around the steering column to access the underlying light switch, which can then be removed and replaced with new ones.
