In this video, you will learn how to adjust the handbrake tension on a Volkswagen Golf III. Remember that by adjusting the handbrake, the rear wheels will also brake much better. The YouTuber has already removed all coverings from the handbrake mechanism.

You will need two 10 mm spanners, one fixed and one adjustable, to tighten the rear brake screws. First, loosen the two screws that secure the adjustment screws to allow for easier movement.

Adjust both to the same height, then return to the closure screws. The handbrake lever should click three to a maximum of four times once properly adjusted.
