The procedure for resetting the Service light on the Volkswagen Passat involves holding down the SET button located to the right of the instrument panel while the panel is turned off. While holding down the button, you will need to turn on the instrument panel by turning the key; this will display a message asking if you really want to reset the Service light. The message must be confirmed with the OK button located on the right side of the steering wheel, and this way the Service light will be reset correctly and you can then turn off the instrument panel.
