The reset operation of the Service light on the Volkswagen Passat requires holding down the SET button located to the right of the instrument panel while it is turned off. While holding down the button, the instrument panel should be turned on by turning the key. This will display a message on the screen asking if you want to reset the Service light. The message should be confirmed with the OK button located on the right side of the steering wheel.
