How to remove the door handles on a Volkswagen Golf 7

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf VII, MK 7, Golf 7 - Years 2012-2019

Start by opening the door on which you want to remove the handle. Look closely at the side of the handle. You may find a small hole or plug covering the hole. If there is a plug, remove it to access the hole. Insert a flathead screwdriver or a hook into the hole. This will allow you to unlock the handle clip. Using a plastic removal kit, detach the side cover of the handle. Pass the lever kit around the perimeter of the plastic until it comes off the door. Depending on the side of the door, you may find only the plastic lock or also the lock. Remove the plastic lock or lock from the door. Grab the handle and move it to the left to unlock it from the door. Then, completely remove the handle from inside the door. Insert the new handle into the door (right or left depending on the side). Secure it firmly. Attach the plastic lock or lock back in place. Put the rubber plug back in place.
