The procedure for replacing the timing belt of the Volkswagen Passat involves opening the hood, removing the cover on the left side of the engine block and the inner cover of the right wheel arch: in this way, the belt tensioner pulley can be located and removed from its housing to reduce the tension of the belt. The belt can then be removed from its seat so that the new replacement piece can be inserted; after the replacement, it will be possible to verify that everything works correctly, then reassemble all the disassembled parts.
