How to replace the headlight bulb of a Volkswagen Passat?

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

To replace the headlight bulb of a Volkswagen Passat, start by turning off the engine and opening the hood. Locate the back of the headlight that contains the bulb to be replaced. Unclip the protective plastic cover by either rotating it or unlocking the fasteners depending on the model. Once the cover is removed, locate the electrical connector attached to the bulb and disconnect it by gently pulling it off. Then, remove the securing clip that holds the bulb in place; you may need to press and lift the clip to release it. Carefully remove the old bulb from the socket, being careful not to touch the new bulb with your fingers to prevent damage. Insert the new bulb in the same orientation as the old one, making sure it is securely in place, then reattach the securing clip. Reconnect the electrical connector and put back the plastic cover. Close the hood and turn on the headlights to verify that the new bulb is working correctly.
