In the Volkswagen Touareg, it can happen that the tailgate gets stuck, for example due to a problem with the unlock button or the lock actuator. In this case, it is possible to perform an emergency opening of the tailgate by following the simple procedure shown in this video. First, open both rear doors, then lower the backrest of the seat by operating the corresponding release lever. Next, go inside the trunk, remove the panel on the right side of the tailgate, and pull the white lever indicated outward. The tailgate will then be free to be opened.
