How to open the locked tailgate on the Volkswagen Touareg?

In the Volkswagen Touareg, it may happen that the tailgate of the trunk gets stuck, for example due to a malfunction of the control button or the lock actuator. In these cases, it is still possible to perform the emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in the video. First of all, we open the rear doors, then we lower the backrest of the sofa completely and we go inside the trunk. We then remove the door located in the lower area of the tailgate, locate the indicated plastic lever and pull it downwards. The tailgate will now be free to be opened and, if necessary, repaired.
