In February 2024, Volvo announced a restructuring of its nomenclature for electric models, to distinguish them from thermal and plug-in hybrids. "ex" becomes the prefix for electric SUVs; "EC" for electric fastback sedans; thermal and hybrid models will retain the traditional initials with "XC". Now let's move on to the video, where we see the attention to versatility with which the trunk of the EX40 is designed. The cargo floor is not fixed, but we can flip it over and slide it into a lower groove to increase the loading height and create a deeper flat cargo space. The same floor can be positioned vertically to divide the trunk, and three hooks for hanging shopping bags are integrated on the upper edge. Under the trunk space there is an additional storage compartment, perfect for storing charging cables, a first aid kit, or items you want to keep out of sight.
