The following video tutorial shows how to replace the courtesy light bulb located in the passenger compartment of a Volvo S40 on the passenger side. First, carefully remove the lens without damaging it: use a flathead screwdriver to pry at multiple points around the lens. Once the lens is removed, use your fingers to disconnect the bulb that needs replacing and insert a new one. Finally, reposition the lens as it was before and apply slight pressure until you hear the "click" of it securing in place. You're done.
