How to Remove the Manual Gear Knob from the Volvo XC70 Mk3

This guide shows how to replace the manual gear knob on the Volvo XC70. From the bottom of the centre console, remove the pen holder panel using a trim removal tool. At this point, act on the two plastic clips at the base of the gear panel and lift the leather finishing cone to expose the locking collar of the gear knob. Using pliers, unscrew the knob lock and extract only the lever's end. Install the new component and secure it in place. Refit the gear cone retaining panel and the pen holder panel. Check the correct operation of the lever.
