Carefully lever off the leather cover from the gaiter frame: this is necessary as you will need to turn the knob, and the leather would twist, risking damage.

Now, turn the knob while simultaneously pressing down. You can now pull up the knob and gaiter: reconnect the gaiter to the knob using the internal ring and then refit the knob by turning it anti-clockwise.

Refit the gaiter into its frame, and you're done.
