To change the oil of a Yamaha R1, start by turning on the engine for a few minutes to warm up the oil, making it more fluid and easier to drain. Once warmed up, turn off the engine and put the bike on a central or side stand, making sure it is stable. Place a container under the oil drain plug, located at the bottom of the engine. Use a wrench to loosen the plug and let the old oil drain completely. Wait a few minutes for all the oil to drain out, then replace the drain plug, screwing it in carefully to avoid leaks. At this point, use a funnel to pour the new oil into the engine through the fill cap. Pour slowly, being careful not to exceed the recommended amount in the bike's manual. Once the filling is complete, close the fill cap and start the engine to circulate the new oil. Leave the engine running for a few minutes and then turn it off, checking for any leaks.
