In this video tutorial, you will learn how to replace the engine oil as part of the regular maintenance service for a Yamaha R1 from 1998 to 2003. First, remove the lower side fairings of your bike by unscrewing all the fixing screws; then, unscrew the oil drain bolt and let the oil drain into a container for about twenty minutes. At this point, unscrew the oil filter using the appropriate tool and replace it with a new one, remembering to screw it on by hand. Finally, screw the drain bolt back in and open the filler cap to pour in the new oil!
