How to Change the Key Fob Battery on an Acura RLX

If you notice that you can no longer open the car doors with the remote key, the battery in the key fob has likely died. Here’s how to replace it: first, extract the emergency key by pressing the small button located under the opening controls. Use the same key to pry open the back cover of the remote; underneath, you will find the battery compartment. Lift the battery and take the new one, placing it with the positive terminal facing up. Then, replace the cover and snap it back into place, and finally, reinsert the emergency key.
