Detailed instructions - Let's see what the "keyless entry system - back up position" icon really means. There is a common misconception that the key symbol found inside the armrest of the Alfa Romeo Giulia is used to recharge the remote control battery: this is not true. It serves solely as a backup position for the alarm and starting in case the remote control battery is flat. In this case, open the vehicle with the physical key extracted from the remote to manually unlock the driver's door; place the top side of the remote (the part with the button) directly on the icon inside the glove compartment in the armrest and start the engine. The system will read the key via "inductive coupling". The definitive solution is to replace the battery with another CR2032.
