Remove the outside rearview mirror on Audi Q7. Use a plastic or rubber trim tool to pry between the perimeter of the mirror frame and the mirror glass. Pry until the plastics detach from the mirror (disconnect the power cable); this is a delicate operation as the glass or the mirror itself may break.

Unscrew the screws with a screwdriver to detach the mirror cover and replace the damaged part with a new one. Be careful to engage the plastic clips into the mirror supports.
