How does the tire pressure monitoring system work on Audi cars?

Depending on the model or year of construction, Audi vehicles can use these two systems: the indirect one that uses ABS/ESP sensors to measure the wheel rotation speed; if a tire is deflated, the diameter decreases and rotates faster; the control unit compares the data and the warning light comes on. The advantage is that there is no physical sensor in the wheel, so maintenance costs are lower, and the system resets automatically after a few kilometers of driving; however, it is less precise. The direct system uses sensors in the wheels, and each sensor has a wireless transmitter that measures temperature and pressure in real time: the data is sent to the control unit, and on the display we see the individual values: The precision is absolute and in real time, but maintenance is expensive.
