How to Fix a Noisy Front End on an Audi A4

In this video, we will see how to fix the noisy front end on an Audi A4. The problem is caused by rattling noises: creaks, sharp knocks, which are not due to the shock absorbers, springs, or links. The main cause lies in the worn-out bushings in the lower arms of the multilink (that is, the five-link system). The first step is a visual inspection: look for cracked or deformed rubber on the bushings, as shown by the YouTuber. Check the tie rod ends: if they have play, they need to be replaced. You can also perform a manual test by shaking the arms with a lever to check for abnormal movements. For the replacement, the YouTuber recommends using original Audi parts because aftermarket parts have a shorter lifespan; specific tools are necessary to perform the job. Lift the car and remove the wheel, disconnect the stabilizer bar, unscrew the fastening nuts, and remove the arm pin - which we will remove for better access - using a press, extract the bushing (note: it is eccentric and has a reference arrow, so we need to mark the position before disassembling). Place the new one in its position, also using the press, to avoid damaging the rubber. Reassemble the arm and tighten the nuts to the correct torque, reconnect the stabilizer bar. After reassembly, check the alignment, as the worn parts have altered the setup; verify the disappearance of the noises with a road test.
