Component Protection activates on 2014 Audi A5 vehicles and others when the control unit, radio, or instrument cluster is replaced with parts from another vehicle. The instrument cluster will display 'component error'. To officially remove it, you must connect online to Audi's servers using diagnostic software; this operation must be performed by a specialised workshop or the dealership after replacing the parts. Unfortunately, there is currently no system available that can bypass the vehicle's security using commercially available tools.
