How to remove the fuel pump from an Audi A4? First, disconnect the battery cables; remove the carpet panel in the trunk. Use a socket wrench to remove the screws securing the metal cap (if present) and take it out of its seat (disconnect the power connector). Remove the large securing bolt of the fuel pump, disconnect the power connectors and the fuel return lines. Extract the fuel pump assembly from its seat along with the attached parts. Install the new fuel pump in the trunk with all the attached parts.
