Audi A6 - Video tutorial

Model: Audi A6 MK 1, C4 - Years 1994-1997
Part: Passenger compartment heating radiator
Operation: Replacing the heater core

This video explains how to replace the heater core of an Audi A6. The machine is shown already disassembled in the image the site of the heater core is identified. The video explains that to access it, all the plastic parts that cover the heater must be removed, after which the screws that secure it must be unscrewed. To replace the battery, it is also necessary to disconnect the battery, empty and replace (if necessary) the coolant. The core (a real radiator) is made up of two pipes (one for the intake and one for the exhaust) which must be detached by loosening the clamps that block them. If they are very worn (as in this case) the two pipes must also be replaced; the new radiator must be connected to them. All fasteners and plastic parts must then be reinstalled.

First of all we lift the car and go to locate the gear oil vent bolt, which we find near the transmission; we use a hex wrench to unscrew it, letting it drain the old oil in a container for about ten minutes. At this point we open the bonnet and remove the air intake sleeve, so as to be able to access the gearbox oil filling hole; then we fill up to the maximum level!
