How to Activate the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System on an Audi A3 MK2

On the earlier A3 models of this version, the TPMS was not standard. However, it can be activated, and here’s how: connect the cable to the EOBD, turn on the ignition, and open the VDCS on your laptop. Select the module of interest, which is 5F. Enter your vehicle's chassis number, then select channel IDE04300-ING117541, set the new value to: "activated" and click "do it" to exit. The second option to select is IDE04307-ENG117705. Again, set the value to "activated" and exit with "do it". Now, go back and select channel 17, code 07, long coding helper, go to Byte 4 and tick Bit 0. This will install the TPMS. Click "exit" and exit. Click "do it" again. Enter control unit 03, which is for the ABS. Click on coding 07, then long coding helper. Modify the digits in bytes 27 and 28, only the first digit of each. Change the first to 3, and in the second, change the first to 8. Then click exit, followed by "do it". Re-enter the module and check that the entered data has been saved. Check and confirm the tyre pressures; to confirm the rolling data, take a drive of 2 to 3 miles.
