Removing the Interior Door Lock Button

Model: Audi A4 B6 - Years 2000-2004

On the door panel, in front of the release lever, there is a button that allows you to open and close the door locks from the inside: if this button is defective and needs to be replaced, you will need to remove the door panel. Start by detaching the aluminum-effect trim covering the upper section of the panel to access the screws underneath; then remove the cover inside the handle and unscrew the screws located beneath it, followed by the screws along the bottom edge of the panel. Next, pry along the edges to release the retaining clips and remove the panel by disconnecting the connectors and the lock cable. At this point, you can release the retaining tabs of the button and pull it out from its housing.
