How to replace the airbag of the Audi A1 (and also of the A6 and A7)

Model: Audi A1 GB, MK 2 - Years 2018-2025
Part: Airbag

In this video we can see how to replace the airbag of the Audi A1, but the system is exactly the same also for the A6 and A7: first we disconnect the negative pole of the battery, to prevent the airbag from accidentally exploding while we handle it, then we pull the steering wheel towards us and then turn it all to the right, in order to highlight the small hole on the back of the steering wheel itself, which the youtuber shows us with the help of a mirror. We insert a small screwdriver into the hole, pushing it inside and at the same time upwards to detach the spring. We turn it all to the other side and repeat the operation with the hole on the left. We disconnect the electrical connector and at that point the airbag is removed from its housing. We remove the steering wheel controls and if necessary we also remove the steering wheel. To put everything back in place, we proceed in reverse.
