Let's see how to do a soft reset of the iDrive system in a BMW: it solves temporary problems such as Bluetooth not connecting, unstable Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, slow or frozen system, black screen. The good thing is that it does not delete our personal settings. Locate the volume button on the central console, and hold it down for about thirty seconds; we must not let go, even if the screen turns off immediately. Only after this period of time can we release the button, and then wait at least another twenty seconds. The system will restart on its own, showing the BMW welcome screen.
