How to Properly Replace Valves

Model: BMW Serie 5 E34 - Years 1988-1995

Need to replace the valves? This guide explains how to proceed correctly. Open the hood and remove the cylinder head. Once removed, you will find the camshaft that operates the valves with their springs. Move the first valve and compress it slightly to lift the lever that compresses the spring on the opposite side of the valve, allowing you to insert a metal shim underneath. Insert an Allen wrench into the top of the valve to hold it in place and loosen the nut on the side. At this point, you can pull out the valve and proceed with the replacement.
