How to Remove the Cylinder Head of a BMW Series 3

Let’s see how to remove the cylinder head of a BMW Series 3. First, remove the soundproofing panel (plastic) above the engine cylinder head and pull out the oil dipstick. Disconnect all the connectors supplying electricity to the glow plugs using needle-nose pliers.

Remove the various wiring present on the head (disconnect the metal clips of the various hoses and the fuel connectors with pliers). Use a socket wrench or electric screwdriver to remove all the bolts from the engine cylinder head, and take it off along with the gasket.

Transport the engine cylinder head with a suitable tool (Hoist). Reassemble everything in reverse order.
