How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW 4 Series

On the BMW 4 Series, the oil service reset is performed from the driver's seat using the digital instrument cluster. In the video, the car is shown with the ignition on and the engine off. The procedure starts by pressing the Start/Stop button without starting the engine to bring the system into ignition mode. At this point, on the BMW 4 Series, use the button on the instrument cluster (the one normally used to reset the trip odometer) and hold it until the service menu appears. The display shows a list of available maintenance items, including the oil service. The video shows the selection of the Oil Service item and the subsequent confirmation of the reset. Confirmation is done by holding the same button until the system completes the operation. Once finished, the display shows a message indicating the new maintenance interval, confirming that the reset was successful. After completing the procedure, simply turn off and turn on the ignition on the BMW 4 Series to verify that the oil change warning is no longer present.
