How to Replace the Timing Chain on a BMW 318

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006

To replace the timing chain on this engine, remove the upper cover, various cables, and the valve cover. Once done, at the ends of the two camshafts, you will find the two sprockets that the chain engages. After draining the engine oil, unscrew the intermediate plugs located at the front of the engine, and then proceed to remove the accessory drive pulleys. On the side, there is the chain tensioner that needs to be completely unscrewed, and then you can remove all the electrical components that prevent you from extracting the chain.
