How to Remove the Rear Door Panel on BMW X1

To remove the door panel on a BMW X1, it is advisable to use plastic trim tools to avoid scratching the surfaces where you will apply force. First, remove the two covers that hide the fastening screws; the first will be located at the height of the door handle, while the second will be along the armrest of the panel. These will be snap-fitted, and you just need to pry at the seams to remove them. After removing the covers, you will have access to the six fastening screws. The first two will be located under the upper cover, while the other four will be visible along the surface of the armrest. Once you have removed the six screws, the panel will only be held to the door by plastic clips. These will be situated along the entire outer perimeter of the panel, and to remove them, you will need to pry between the door sheet metal and the panel itself. After releasing all the clips, the panel will remain connected to the car only by the door handle release cable, which can be easily disconnected by hand, and the window control power cable, which can be unplugged via the connector located under the panel button.
