Remove the damaged cabin fan? Let's see how to take out the fan from inside the BMW X5. Open the door and remove the plastic cover above the center dashboard: use a trim tool to pry off the cover. Get a screwdriver or a cordless drill and unscrew the mounting screws around the perimeter of the fan. Once this is done, pull out the damaged fan (disconnect all the power connectors).

Install the new fan in its place, insert the new part into the compartment, and reassemble all the dashboard plastic cover components removed earlier.
