How do you change the battery on a BMW 5 Series? Let's see where the battery is located and how to remove it. Open the trunk of the car (on the BMW, the battery is located in the rear) and uncover the fabric/plastic cover (located in the trunk on the side). Remove the retaining bolts from the battery terminals (remove the two opposite poles) and disconnect them from the battery. Take out the old battery and prepare to install a new unit in the trunk. After placing the battery in the trunk, reconnect the previously disconnected terminals. Start and test the vehicle in all its parts.
