Before starting, open the hood of your BMW 3 Series. Begin by unscrewing and removing the screws and bolts that secure the serpentine belt cover.

This will give you access to the serpentine belt itself. Next, loosen the tensioner.

At this point, the serpentine belt will be free, and you can remove it. Once you have completed this step, you will have finished the disassembly. To install the new belt and close everything up, simply follow these steps in reverse, and the replacement will be complete.
