How to Replace the Serpentine Belt on a BMW 3 Series

Before you can start, open the hood of your BMW 3 Series. Then, unclip and remove the upper engine cover and the serpentine belt cover. Start by loosening the tensioner that keeps the serpentine belt tight. This will free the serpentine belt itself. Proceed to unclip and remove it. Once you complete this step, you will have finished the disassembly. To install the new serpentine belt, follow this procedure in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
