In this video, see how to replace the serpentine belt on a BMW 3 Series E46: after opening the hood, remove the air filter and air duct; this will expose the serpentine belt. Unscrew the tensioner pulley to lift the belt, which you will then remove by prying from the top. In the diagram shown, see how to reinstall the new belt: it follows a rather winding path; pay attention to the direction the belt will turn.

Remember to also replace the tensioner pulley, then reinstall the air filter, and the job is complete.

How to open the bonnet on a Volkswagen Golf?
