How to Open the Boot of a BMW 1 Series When It Is Locked?

To open the boot of a BMW 1 Series when it is locked, lower the lever that allows you to tilt the rear seats for access to the boot from inside. You will find a small cover that needs to be removed; attached to this cover is a cord that must be pulled. Pulling this cord will unlock the boot, allowing you to open it from the outside. After unlocking, reposition the cord in its housing and raise the seats again. It is advisable to replace the battery if the boot does not open in the usual manner.
