In the BMW 1 Series, it can happen that the boot lid gets stuck, for example, due to a problem with the control button or the lock actuator. In these cases, you can still perform an emergency opening by following the simple procedure shown in this tutorial.

First, open the rear doors, then lower the backrest of the seat by operating the release lever. Next, go into the boot area, locate the lock, and operate it using a flat-head screwdriver.

The boot lid will now be free to open.
