Replacing the suspension bushing on the BMW 3 Series E46 is a straightforward task. You will need, in addition to the replacement bushing, a 16mm socket wrench and a jack to help access the underside. Lift the car and go underneath it, near the suspension. Using the socket wrench, remove the two bolts that secure the bushing to the frame, then extract it from the suspension arm. You may need to apply some force. Once removed, install the new bushing ensuring it is properly seated and secure it by tightening the two bolts.
