How to Replace the Control Arm Support on BMW 3 Series E46

The failure of the control arm support bushing in the front suspension (commonly known as a silent block) is a frequent issue on this car model. In the aftermarket, you can find this replacement part even under the name of reinforced type. Replacing it is quite simple, especially since you can do it without removing the control arm itself. Lift the vehicle, unscrew the two mounting bolts of the aluminum support that houses the rubber bushing, and remove it from the control arm. Then, insert the new bushing using a lever and secure it with the two mounting bolts.
