Instructions for Disassembling the Suspension Control Arm

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Control arm

The suspension control arm has a triangular shape and is secured at three points: to the wheel hub via a ball joint, to the vehicle frame at the rear through a mount containing a rubber bushing, and to the engine cradle at the front via another ball joint. First, remove the retaining nut of the joint on the hub side and extract it using a fork puller; then proceed to disassemble the mounting bolts of the rear support and then the retaining nut of the front joint: at this point, you can remove the control arm from its seat.
