If you want to replace the internal chrome of your BMW 5 Series you will first have to deal with the panel on the top of the door. It is hooked through some clips to the frame that contains the chrome itself. Once released, the entire internal door panel must also be removed. In the images you can see the position in which the clips of the chrome frame are fixed and how they must be correctly attached. Once positioned with the clips aligned with the holes, you will need to exert a little pressure to allow them to hook. It obviously will not be completely stationary until the upper internal door panel is replaced.
