How to Reset the Service Light on the BMW 1 Series
Model: BMW Serie 1
E81, E82, MK 1, E87
- Years 2004-2013
To reset the BMW 1 Series service light, start by turning on the instrument cluster and the vehicle. Check that the display shows the car symbol on a ramp and the date for the upcoming service by holding down the button on the left side of the instrument cluster. Once the service has been completed, hold the button on the left side of the instrument cluster until the car symbol on a ramp and the date appear. Press the button on the left of the indicator stalk (bc button) and the word "reset" will appear; hold it until the clock symbol appears, indicating that the reset is in progress. Once the reset is complete, the new mileage and the date for the next service will be displayed. Finally, you can turn off the vehicle and upon restarting, check that the service message is no longer present.
