How to reset the CC ID 49 error codes on a BMW?

Accessing the CC-ID codes on a BMW can provide further information about the vehicle's condition by determining the specific type of problem encountered. To read the list of these error codes, first turn on the ignition and wait for all warning lights to turn off. Use the dial on the left multifunction lever to scroll through the submenus until you reach the 'Check' option. Then, press and hold the 'BC' button on the same lever for at least 5 seconds to access the information for all error codes. In particular, error code 49 indicates a malfunction of the particulate filter.
